Recently, I did a post on Mike’s Huli Huli Chicken and wanted to stop by there again to take a few more pictures of the area. That’s when I spotted Jeezys Island Ice in the same parking lot, a new food truck near Mike’s Huli Huli Chicken. I met and spoke with the owner for a few minutes in between customers and found out this was his first week in business. His name is Alan and he is about 23 years old. He does plan on making this location Jeezys Island Ice’s new home.
Jeezys Island Ice serves the classic shave ice, a favorite treat on the island of Oahu. Besides shave ice, Jeezys Island Ice also serves a brownie sundae, rootbeer float, vanilla cone and a chocolate / caramel sundae. The shave ice is only $5 with your choice of up to 3 flavors. With your shave ice you can get the li hing mui powder, condensed milk (snow cap) and chocolate / caramel add-ons for only $.50 and for $1 you can add ice cream or mochi balls.
As rainbow shave ice is usually the most popular at shave ice trucks, I tried their rainbow shave ice with mochi balls, condensed milk (snow cap) and ice cream. Other combinations you might want to try are their brownie sundae or their mango with li hing mui powder. The serving size at Jeezys Island Ice is very generous and like many other shave ice places on the island, there is enough to share with another, depending on your sweet tooth. The combination of the mochi balls and ice cream with the shave ice was very good. There are a few self serve yogurt places on the island that offer this as a topping as well and it works for both shave ice and yogurt.
Overall, I enjoyed Jeezys Island Ice’s shave ice. They have very fair prices and serve you a lot for your money. Even their water is only a dollar (for food trucks, this is the cheapest you are usually going to find). I think it will be a great fit, having Jeezys Island Ice right next to Mike’s Huli Huli Chicken. When you’re first starting out, it’s always nice to be next to an established business, especially when what you provide is entirely different than what’s already there. Jeezys Island Ice is a nice addition to the area and will provide customers with a little more variety in their beverage / dessert seeking options. If you are interested in giving Jeezys Island Ice a try, they are open from 10:30am to 5:30pm, seven days a week.

Jeezys Shave Ice is so new that it does not have a website or a Yelp Page yet so when they are up I will post them on this page.
